01 — The guidelines

What we can and can’t accept

To keep every package safe and usable, we follow standard food-bank guidelines. When in doubt, reach out before you drop off.

Yes, please

  • Rice, pasta, and dry grains
  • Canned goods — vegetables, beans, fish, soup
  • Cooking oil, flour, sugar, and salt
  • Cereal, oats, and shelf-stable breakfast items
  • Baby formula and jarred baby food (sealed, in date)
  • Tea, coffee, and other non-perishable staples

Please don’t

  • Homemade or home-cooked food
  • Opened, unsealed, or partially used items
  • Anything past its best-before or expiry date
  • Damaged, dented, or unlabelled cans
  • Alcohol or anything requiring a prescription

Fresh & perishable items: our doorstep deliveries do include fresh groceries, but for food-safety reasons these are handled separately — please contact us first before bringing perishables.

02 — Two ways in

However much you’re giving, there’s a path

A bag from your weekly shop or a pallet of surplus stock — both land in the same place.

I.

Individual donors

A bag, a box, whatever you can spare.

Bring your sealed, in-date items to our drop-off point during opening hours. No appointment needed for small drop-offs.

We arrange drop-offs case by case. Send a quick note using the form below and we’ll confirm a time and place that works for you.

Businesses & organizations

Bulk donations, food drives, partnerships.

Running a food drive, clearing surplus stock, or want to make giving part of your team’s year? We’ll help you coordinate pickup and logistics.

Because business giving and ongoing partnership naturally overlap, this connects with our partner programme.

04 — Good to know

Food-donation FAQ

The questions we’re asked most. Anything else, just ask us in the form above.

Can I drop off homemade food?

No — for everyone’s safety we can only accept commercially packaged, sealed, in-date items. Homemade or home-cooked food can’t be redistributed.

Can my company run a food drive?

Yes, and we’d love that. Get in touch and we’ll help you set it up — collection bins, a target list of most-needed items, and pickup once you’re done.

What if I have a large quantity?

For bulk or surplus donations, contact us before you deliver — we can usually arrange a pickup and make sure we have space to store and sort it properly.

Can I donate something other than food?

Often, yes — toiletries, baby essentials and other everyday items are welcome. Tell us what you have in the form above and we’ll confirm.

Prefer to give differently?

Food isn’t the only way to help. Whatever fits you best, it all lands in the same place — with a family who needs it.
